One of the more scientific cooking shows I like is Good Eats. Good Eats is an American television cooking show created and hosted by Alton Brown. With its unique approach, Alton explores the science behind the cooking, featuring one main ingredient per episode. The show tends to focus on familiar dishes that can easily be made at home, and also features segments on choosing the right appliances, and getting the most out of inexpensive, multi-purpose tools. There is a more fun approach to the cooking in the show, which distanciates the show from other shows like America’s Test Kitchen.
Be sure to check out some (or all) of the episodes ! You can find torrents for the show at digitaldistractions. Currently they are almost wrapping up season 10, which makes this series pretty long running for a cooking show, which proves its popularity in America. I must warn you though, in my opinion not all of the dishes they cook on the show are of the same standard as we have in Europe, but the information and background you get on the ingredients makes this show a must-see ! In the future I might posts some video recipes from the show, but nothing is certain…
