And we’re back !

Blogged in Uncategorized by Michael Monday April 28, 2008

Ok I finally found the time and energy again to do something with the blog. There are some new food shows in the making, and there is some new content to be posted. I will also try to fix all the video clips that were on the site before. I will update the progress in this post.

This is the end …

Blogged in Uncategorized by Michael Monday March 10, 2008

I’ve decided to quit my blog due to personal circumstances. I’m at a point in my life where I no longer have the energy or will to keep blogging about food. It’s been quiet for a while now … even on TV nothing much has happened. I don’t think I will pick the site up ever again, but you never know. If there’s anyone out there who would like to continue my work, feel free to leave a comment or contact me, and we can discuss it.

Goodbye …

Youtube decided to pull the plug on me

Blogged in Uncategorized by Michael Saturday January 26, 2008

As you may (or may not) have noticed, all my videos on youtube are dead. They decided to permanently disable my account, possibly because of copyright infregement. This is a major dissapointment because it was alot of work getting the videos on there. Also I was about to get my 1000th subscriber, but whatcha gonna do … So I have decided to host all the videos on the website itself. It will take at least a few weeks to get everything back up and running, but it will be worth it. Stay tuned for updates.

Update 1: All my videos are temporarily available from www.tastyfood.tv . The website may be a bit slow from time to time, but I’ll be working on a solution. Meanwhile you can keep enjoying the recipes as I add them back to the site.

Relaunch + free giveaway

Blogged in Uncategorized by Michael Saturday November 24, 2007

It’s been quiet for a while now, but I’m ready to pick it up again. I’m relaunching the site, and I’m adding new videos.

To celebrate the relaunch, I am giving away 3 things, one of them being a pack of Gordon Ramsay dessert recipe cards. And 2 other cool surprises. I’ve gotten the idea from Dagmar’s blog where she was giving away self-made things to her fellow-food bloggers. I commented on her post, and thereby obliged to do a giveaway myself.

So what do you have to do to be one of the receivers of a free surprise ? Be one of the first 3 people to comment on this post, AND to make the same promise on your (food)blog to give away a surprise to 3 people. If you don’t have a blog, and want to take part anyway, just leave a comment, if there are not enough fellow food-bloggers that comment, you will be picked.

And don’t forget to visit Dagmar’s wonderful blog.

Now, on to some new content !

I’ve had enough now! - part 2

Blogged in Uncategorized by Michael Monday August 27, 2007

In my previous rant, I wrote about my content being stolen. Turns out it was very urgent for me to start watermarking, because I’ve noticed alot more content thieves. I’ve also noticed some of the clips from the late night talkshows being copied over to Google video. I’m still really pissed off, but since my work gets copied, it must mean I’m doing something that people like, right ?

I have since started to watermark my videos, and put my url at the end as a 5 second credit screen. I am currently reuploading all my videos with these added watermarks, you can follow the progress here:

PROGRESS REUPLOADING: DONE!

Thank you for your patience. Get ready for a lot of new content !

I’ve had enough now!

Blogged in Uncategorized by Michael Saturday August 25, 2007

I’ve had enough! People everywhere are taking the hard work I put in, and stealing it. First I found alot of sites embedding my videos without any form of credit or anything. Ok, that one is probably my own fault, if I don’t want the videos embedded, I should probably disable that option in youtube. Then I found people copying my articles, letter by letter, onto their website, again without any form of credit or anything. And just now, I found out some twat has taken the Gordon Ramsay interview from Friday Night with Jonathan Ross and uploaded it to youtube under his name. Again, no credit whatsoever. So if you want to thank the person that made me take offline all my videos, send all your hatemail to youtube user ‘hazelangus’.I’ve also had it with some people deliberately going through as many youtube videos of mine as they can, and giving them the lowest possible rating. I also moderate my comments, and so far I had to go through a few “fuck you”s and what not in the comments. Therefor all future videos will have both ratings and comments disabled.

At this point, I’m fed up. There are only 2 options left for me to do. Best case scenario: I embed all my videos with a bigass watermark that has my url. Worst case scenario: I quit my blog and keep all the nice videos for myself. I’ll sleep over it, but at this point, it’s not looking good.

Leave a comment if you agree … or disagree …

Update: I just woke up, saw all the nice comments here, in my mailbox and on the youtube site, so it does seem like alot of people care. Thanks for your support. I’ve decided to bring all my videos back, with a small watermark, so people can once again enjoy them. I had almost 100 videos online, so watermarking is going to take me a little while. But I’ll do my best to get it sorted, and I will make up for it with a whole lot of new video recipes. I’ll keep the site updated on the progress.

Coming up next …

Blogged in Uncategorized by Michael Wednesday July 11, 2007

As the load of video recipes slow a bit down during the summer months, I will be bringing you a few other food related things. First up are some of the more interesting bits from the F-word, amongst other short food documentaries. I will be putting them in a new category called mini-docu’s.

Second are some of TV’s funniest moments, with celebrity chefs (Nigella Lawson, Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay, …) visiting late night hosts such as Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien and David Letterman.

And to keep you really busy and satisfied through the summer I will post some of Gordon’s fast food recipes from the F-Word, and I’ll also try to put online more recipes from other chefs, that is, if they let me. I might just link them from other people, but I feel safer if they are in my own youtube account, so that they don’t get removed suddenly without me knowing.

Problems with videos continued…

Blogged in Uncategorized by Michael Sunday June 17, 2007

Well it seems that dailymotion has started removing my Jamie Oliver videos too. They seem to have alot of really illegal content, but somehow my poor Jamie at Home vids got deleted again. I’m tired of uploading these again though, and will skip them until I find a home for them so that they don’t get deleted in a matter of days. I’ll be checking out some new hosts the next couple of days. Meanwhile expect only stuff from other chefs.

Update: I got my first cease and desist letter in the mail today. I would like to avoid legal action, so I’m not going to repost the Jamie Oliver video recipes until I find a legal way to do so. But for now, I’m not taking any requests.

Problems with videos

Blogged in Uncategorized by Michael Thursday June 7, 2007

Well I guess this was to be expected, youtube has been removing some of my videos due to copyright infringements. While I have all videos ready to re-upload somewhere else, I didn’t expect to be caught so soon, as I didn’t get many views/attention yet. I am waiting for thevideobay to launch, and meanwhile I will try to get some mirrors on other video websites. I am still looking through the options. If you have any suggestions as to where the best place to move is, leave a comment.

Update 1: The only clips that have been removed were Jamie Oliver’s clips. I am currently uploading these clips again to dailymotion, and replacing the dead video links. As long as this hasn’t been finished there will be no updates to the site, probably throughout the weekend.

Update 2: All broken videos have been replaced. Time to add some new content!
